Social Legitimacy in Actionℱ

Beyond The Bacchanal
with Therese

Season 1: Eight Episodes. One Central Question -
What makes people accept the right of others to lead, decide and act on their behalf?

Beyond the Bacchanal with Therese was an eight-episode live discussion series (presented via TikTok) which explored the issues behind the headlines through the lens of the Social Legitimacy Frameworkℱ.

Each episode moved beyond the noise, politics and surface-level debate to ask deeper questions about trust, leadership, fairness, accountability, public acceptance and the legitimacy of the decisions that shape our societies.

The conversations began with issues relevant to Trinidad and Tobago but deliberately connected them to wider international challenges, demonstrating how Social Legitimacy in Actionℱ can help us better understand why some decisions, institutions and leaders gain public acceptance - while others lose it.

Each conversation examines a different real-world challenge while demonstrating how the Social Legitimacy Frameworkℱ can be used to move beyond the bacchanal and ask the questions that ultimately determine whether decisions and institutions succeed:

Who benefits? Who bears the cost? Who had a voice? Who is

accountable? And will people accept the outcome as legitimate?
